Stripe Connect

Stripe Connect lets your clients pay invoices directly through Kiaro. When you send an invoice, the client receives a payment link and can pay by credit card. Funds go to your Stripe account.

Platform Stripe vs. Stripe Connect

Kiaro uses two payment providers:

  • Lemon Squeezy handles your Kiaro subscription (Solo/Team billing). This is managed automatically; you don’t need to configure anything.
  • Stripe Connect handles payments your clients make on invoices you send. This requires you to connect your own Stripe account.

These are independent. You can subscribe to Kiaro without setting up Connect, and vice versa.

Setting up Stripe Connect

  1. Go to Settings -> Invoices
  2. Scroll to Invoice Payment Gateway at the bottom of the page
  3. Click Connect Stripe Account
  4. You will be redirected to Stripe to either sign in to an existing account or create a new one
  5. Complete Stripe’s onboarding (business details, bank account for payouts)
  6. Once complete, you are redirected back to Kiaro

After connecting, every invoice you send includes a payment link. When the client opens it, they see the invoice summary alongside an embedded card payment form. Card details are entered directly into a Stripe-secured field and never touch Kiaro’s servers. Funds go straight to your Stripe account; Kiaro does not hold or process the money.

What payment methods can clients use?

The payment form shows whichever methods are enabled in your own Stripe dashboard. Cards work by default. To accept SEPA Direct Debit, iDEAL, Bancontact, or other regional methods, enable them under Stripe -> Settings -> Payment methods. Changes take effect on new payment attempts immediately; you do not need to re-link.

Fees

Kiaro takes no fee on payments your clients make through Stripe Connect. The only fees are Stripe’s own standard processing fees (typically 2.9% + 30¢ for US cards, 3.4% + 30¢ for international cards, with regional variations for SEPA/iDEAL/etc.). Those fees are deducted from your Stripe balance, the same way they would be if you were using Stripe directly outside Kiaro. Funds settle into your account on Stripe’s normal payout schedule.

Kiaro is configured to act purely as the payment route: your Stripe account is the merchant of record, your business name appears on the cardholder’s statement, and any chargebacks or disputes are handled by you in your own Stripe dashboard, not by us.

Checking your connection status

Go to Settings -> Invoices and scroll to the Invoice Payment Gateway section. If connected, you will see a green status indicator showing whether payouts are enabled or pending.

Disconnecting

To disconnect your Stripe account, visit your Stripe dashboard directly. Existing invoices with pending payments will no longer have a working payment link. You can reconnect at any time from Settings -> Invoices.
