BillingChanging Your Plan

Changing Your Plan

Manage your subscription from Settings → Billing.

Reading the Current Plan card

The Current Plan card on Settings → Billing shows your plan name, your monthly subtotal, and a subtitle telling you exactly which billing cadence you’re on and when your next renewal lands — for example “Monthly · Renews May 5, 2026” or “Annual · Renews Apr 5, 2027”. For Team plans the card also breaks the subtotal down into “N seats × $29.00/mo” so you can see at a glance how seats and price relate.

While you’re on a free trial, the same card shows “Trial ends in N days” instead of a renewal date. Cadence (monthly vs annual) is committed when you subscribe, not at trial signup.

How plan changes work

When you change plans, Kiaro updates your existing Lemon Squeezy subscription rather than starting a new one. You keep the same billing cycle and the same subscription ID, and you are never charged twice for the same period. The proration is handled automatically:

  • Upgrading (Solo to Team, monthly to annual): the change takes effect immediately. You are charged the prorated difference for the remainder of your current billing period right away.
  • Downgrading (Team to Solo, annual to monthly): the change is scheduled at the end of your current billing period. You keep your current plan’s features until then, no extra charge today.

Upgrading

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Click Upgrade to Team (or Upgrade to Solo if you are on Free)
  3. The Lemon Squeezy hosted checkout opens as an overlay. You can close it without losing your spot if you want to think it over.
  4. Enter your payment details (if not already on file) and confirm

When the upgrade completes:

  • You get immediate access to the new plan’s features and limits
  • Your AI command allocation updates to the new tier immediately
  • Lemon Squeezy charges the prorated difference for the remainder of your current billing period
  • Your next renewal will be at the new plan’s full price

Downgrading

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Click Downgrade to Solo (only available on Team workspaces with no other members)
  3. Confirm

When you downgrade:

  • The change is scheduled at the end of your current billing period, not immediately
  • A banner appears on the Billing page showing the destination plan, the effective date, and a Cancel scheduled change button
  • You are not charged anything today
  • You keep your current plan’s features until the scheduled date
  • If you change your mind before then, click Cancel scheduled change and your downgrade is reverted with one click

If your team has more than one member, you cannot downgrade Solo until you remove or transfer ownership of the other members on the Members page first. Solo is a single-user plan.

Switching billing frequency

You can switch between monthly and annual billing from Settings → Billing. The same upgrade/downgrade rules apply:

  • Monthly to annual is treated as an upgrade. You are charged the prorated annual amount today and your subscription switches to annual immediately. Annual gives you 2 months free (you pay for 10 months instead of 12).
  • Annual to monthly is treated as a downgrade. The switch is scheduled at the end of your current annual period. You keep the year you already paid for and switch to monthly billing on renewal.

Reverting a scheduled change

While a downgrade or annual-to-monthly switch is pending, the Billing page shows a banner with the destination plan, the effective date, and a Cancel scheduled change button. Click it any time before the renewal lands to keep your current plan. There is no penalty.

Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel from Settings → Billing → Cancel Subscription. Cancellation:

  • Takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep your current plan’s features until then, with no extra charge.
  • Drops your workspace to the Free plan on the renewal date. Your data is not deleted, but Free-tier limits on active clients and projects apply from that point on.
  • Can be reversed any time from the same page by resubscribing. You start a fresh billing period from the day you resubscribe; the old period is not refunded.

If you have a Team subscription, you cannot cancel until you have removed or transferred ownership of the other members on the Members page. Cancellation drops the workspace to Free, and Free is single-user.
